Elden Ring Great Runes and How to Activate Them
Rune Arc and Divine Towers
Once you defeat the required boss and have a Great Rune, they are inactive. To activate them and use their powers by spending Rune Arc, you need to activate them in their Divine Tower and there is a different Divine Tower for each Great Rune.
Radahn’s Great Rune
You get this Great Rune after defeating Starscourge Radahn. It increases your character's maximum HP, FP, and stamina when used. To activate Radahn's Great Rune, you need to find the Divine Tower of Caelid, located north of Caelid. Since there is no door there, you have to find your way through the tree roots on the cliff. Be careful trying to get inside the tower as you will encounter enemies placed to bring you down. To activate Radahn's Great Rune, you need to interact with the glowing symbol in the middle of two dead fingers.
Godrick’s Great Rune
The Great Rune that players usually get first is the one that belongs to Godrick the Grafted. Godrick's Great Rune adds 5 points to all your attributes. After defeating Godrick in Stormveil Castle, there is a path on the right beyond the castle's entrance. This pat is guarded by a lion with a blade on its claw. When you proceed through that entrance, you will reach the Divine Tower of Limgrave. At the top of this tower, the symbol with which you will activate Godrick's Great Rune is located in the middle of the dead two fingers.
Great Rune of The Unborn
To get the Great Rune of the Unborn, you need to defeat the boss named Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon in the Academy of Raya Lucaria. This Great Rune differs from the others in that it does not actively buff. It is used to respec your character. Since Elden Ring has a variety of gameplay styles, you can redistribute your character's stats with this Great Rune when you want to change the way you play after a while. There is a Divine Tower near the Academy of Raya Lucaria. To access this tower, you need an item rewarded from Ranni's Quest. Rykard’s Great Rune
To obtain Rykard's Great Rune, you must defeat Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy. After you defeat him, Rykard's Great Rune will be added to your inventory. When you use it, your 185 HP is restored per enemy you kill. It is quite strong against large groups of enemies. To activate Rykard's Great Rune, you need to climb to the top of the Divine Tower of West Altus.
Morgott’s Great Rune
You can get Morgott's Great Rune after defeating the game's first story boss, Morgott the Omen King, for the second time at Leyndell, Royal Capital. Activating Morgott's Great Rune increases your maximum HP by 25%. To activate it, you need to climb to the top of the Divine Tower of East Altus.
Malenia’s Great Rune
To get Malenia's Great Rune, you need to defeat one of the iconic bosses of the game, Malenia, Blade of Miquella. When equipped, it allows the player to regenerate HP on attacks after taking damage, but it reduces the healing ability of Flask of Crimson Tears by 25%.
Mohg’s Great Rune
To obtain the Mohg's Great Rune, you must defeat the Mohg, Lord of Blood. Unlike other Great Runes, Mogh's Great Rune is designed for PvP. To activate it, you need to go to the Divine Tower of East Altus, where you activate Morgott's Great Rune.
