Tactical Assault VR Review

Tactical Assault VR Review

Tactical Assault VR is a virtual reality tactical shooter that focuses on close-quarters battles. Players can play solo or with up to 8 friends in multiplayer Coop.

The game features an arsenal of weapons, scopes, sight attachments, explosives and equipment for you to use as you take part in an elite special forces unit and face off against enemies. Currently in Early Access release, Tactical Assault VR has great foundations but needs more content for it to reach its full potential.

  • Non-linear, asymmetrical maps giving players endless variety in how they choose to infiltrate and complete missions
  • Graphics that allow low end rigs to run the game stutter free
  • Finicky controls when attempting to reload weapons due to sensitive zones on controllers

The Aim of the Game

Players become part of an elite special forces unit and must utilize real-world CQB (Close Quarters Battles) tactics such as breaching doors, clearing rooms and defeating the enemy threat. In addition to playing solo or coop with up to 8 friends, there is also cross-play support with up to 4 players between PCVR and Meta Quest 2. There are also randomized enemy positions making each playthrough different than the last as well as non-linear asymmetrical maps giving players endless variety when infiltrating missions. Finally they can test their skills against others in multiplayer 5v5 PvP which is still currently in Early Alpha stage.

Gameplay Mechanics

Tactical Assault VR is an intense virtual reality tactical shooter centered around close-quarters battles. Players can choose to play solo or with friends in multiplayer coop mode, arming themselves with a vast array of weapons, scopes, sight attachments, explosives and equipment. Utilizing non-linear maps, players must breach doors, clear rooms and defeat the enemy threat while calculating physics-based bullet drop and time-to hit for a more challenging simulation.

The game also features stealth mechanics that allow players to sneak up behind enemies for silent kills or buttstock hits to the head. The gunplay in Tactical Assault VR feels very good overall; however there are some issues that may affect the experience such as finicky controls when attempting to reload weapons due to sensitive zones on controllers and the vest not being securely attached to your player model. Additionally, bullets can take longer than expected to travel from point A to point B which can be frustrating at times. That said though cross-play support between PCVR and Meta Quest 2 is available allowing up to four players along with randomized enemy positions making each playthrough an unknown challenge adding replayability value.

Overall this game shows promise especially considering its Early Access status; however it still needs more content such as workshops or map creators before it will truly shine even brighter than it already does at present day. Developers seem passionate about their creation so I believe great things are yet come for Tactical Assault VR!

is tactical assault vr worth playing

Visuals

The graphics of Tactical Assault VR are a stand out feature - angular style well utilized for weapons which look detailed; runs smoothly even on rinky-dink rigs from seven years ago without any stutter; visuals add another layer of tension when playing through gameplay mechanics - increases challenge from physics based bullet drop etcetera.

Is it Worth Playing?

Overall Tactical Assault VR shows a lot of promise despite being only early access right now – developers seem passionate about what they’re doing so hopefully more content will come soon enough such as maybe a workshop or map creator for players who want something extra out of this title – definitely worth playing if you like games where strategy matters just as much if not more than aiming skill!
