Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Review

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Review

As a player who loves to play all the games made by Naughty Dog, I was incredibly excited that Uncharted 4 finally came to PC. I hope one day other games will come to PC and we will have the opportunity to experience the Last of Us series again.

The Uncharted series has always been a game with enjoyable mechanics. Although I didn't like them very much because I thought that the first 2 games of the series were very old, the 3rd game of the series managed to make you like it. Uncharted 4 is a name that I will count at the beginning of the list of the best games I have played because it offers a completely excellent experience.

8Very Good
  • Graphics and Grappling Hook mechanics
  • Its story is way above previous games
  • Semi-open world added very nicely
  • It is the end of the Nathan Drake era
  • Third act of the game gets boring

A Little Bit Of Fanboy

I'm definitely a Naughty Dog fan. I have loved all the games they have made and will continue to play. All the games they make are always above one level. Uncharted 4 is a game that I really enjoy playing. Even if I don't find the first two games of the series overly good, I think the last game has brought the series to an excellent point. The second you start Uncharted 4, you find yourself in perfect action. You are caught in a storm on a boat and there are other boats chasing you. The atmosphere and sounds fully reflect the tension of the moment. You are in conflict with that tension. In fact, this way you understand what kind of game awaits you. It shows from the very first second that it is a game with a nice atmosphere and lots of action. After all, the game meets all your expectations. It makes me really happy to finally have this experience on the PC. It seems to me that there is a lack of third-person quality story games on the PC side, and this game debuted to meet exactly that.

What’s Good

I don't use the term "complete game" for many games, but Uncharted 4 is a truly complete game. Its story is perfectly crafted and advanced for the final game in the series. Lots of action and fun. Its graphics, atmosphere and music are also absolutely top notch. Although the number of weapons used in the game is small, the actions proceed efficiently. The grapple hook mechanic, which they used for the first time in this game, has taken the action to an incredible level. There are areas where you can hook in almost all the action moments you enter in the game. By using these areas, you can jump directly on your enemies, shoot them while swaying with the hook and avoid bullets, or you can use it to create a safe area for yourself and get away immediately. This creates enough action options for such a game.

uncharted 4 review

Although I generally use these hooks throughout the game to create space for myself and to escape from enemies, it is really extremely relaxing to shoot your enemies with a grenade launcher while swinging. At the very beginning of the game, we go to a lot of past and present, but it was very nice because it was designed in a way that would not make it difficult for the players to follow. It was so nice to see Nathan's childhood, to see his relationship with his brother and finally to really understand him. The plot twists throughout the game always manage to surprise and keep the story alive. If you have come across other reviews I have written before, you must have read that I do not like open-world games very much.

Naughty Dog, on the other hand, has found a great solution to this and offers areas to explore, which they call a semi-open world in some parts of the game. If you have questions about how this happens, let me explain briefly. In part of the game, the game drops you with a car to the clearing of the island. In fact, even though your destination is clear, it allows you to explore the surroundings rather than doing it in a linear way. So there is simply no straight path. There is a large area and you can progress by exploring the surroundings or you can go directly to the place you need to go. It gives a very adequate sense of exploration for a linear game story, and it certainly does this without knocking the player out.

Way Above Average

In conclusion, Uncharted 4 is definitely not a game that does everything best. The action is bland for some games, the storytelling explodes in some places, the graphics aren't the best in the year it was released, but it definitely does it above a certain level. That's exactly what makes it a game for me and why I love it so much. Because the story is focused, he doesn't put the action on the 3rd plan or avoid creativity in the episode designs to make the graphics better. It does everything at a great level and gives the player it all at once. Apart from being the most entertaining game I've played in recent years, it's also a great game that makes you feel emotional from time to time with its story. I can say that Uncharted 4 is a game that you should definitely play.
